About the event
Elite Baseball's 12u team is hosting it's 3rd Annual Inshore Slam Tournament on October 21, 2023 at Sea Hag Marina in Steinhatchee, FL in hopes of raising funds for the team to attend the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament in Cooperstown, NY in Summer 2024.
Captain's Dinner - Friday, October 20, 2023, 7:00pm
Cornhole Tournament - Friday, October 20, 2023, 8:30pm
Fishing Tournament - Saturday, October 21, 2023, Safelight (30 minutes before daylight)
Fishing Tournament Rules:
INDIVIDUAL ANGLER FISHING: This is an ANGLER TOURNAMENT. Federal, State & County
Fishing laws apply to each angler that chooses to compete in this tournament. All Anglers on the boat must have
a ticket prior to fishing. All types of boats are allowed. (Bay boat, airboat, kayak, etc.) The tournament begins
at safelight, which means lines in the water at safelight. Safe light is 30 minutes before sunrise. The Weigh
Master has final say on the official time and he/she will announce it at the captain’s meeting. If there is no
captains meeting, then it will be posted prior to tournament day.
ENTRY FEE: Entry fee is $50.00 per adult angler, $25 for youth (14 and under). Payment can be submitted via check made payable to Elite Baseball Cooperstown or cash to an Elite Baseball player/parent ahead of the tournament, or payment can be made at the Captain's Dinner or morning of the tournament. No fisherman will be permitted to weigh in without a wristband indicating registration and payment.
SAFETY: SAFETY IS ALWAYS FIRST. Safety is paramount. Captains are responsible for the safe and legal
operation of their boats at all times.
QUALIFYING FISH: Fish must be caught on hook and line and landed in whole condition. Fish must be of
legal length and possession limits. Qualifying trout will be 15”-19” ONLY! No trout over 19” will be accepted
in the heaviest category. Red drum 18”-27”. Weighing in a fish that is not of legal limits will result in
disqualification from the tournament.
CALCUTTA: There is a side pot Calcutta for one trout over 19” in this tournament. The entry fee is $20 per
angler. This side pot will pay out half of what it collected. There will be only 1 payout for the heaviest trout
over 19” in. weighed in. Entry fee is required to participate in this category. Everyone on the boat must enter
Calcutta.
RADIO: Captains are reminded that they should have an operational VHF radio on board their boat for safety.
VHF radio Channels 9 & 10 are monitored by the local marinas. Channel 16 is monitored by the Coast Guard.
CHECK OUT / IN: There is no boat check the morning of the tournament. If the captain of the boat did not attend the Captain's meeting during the Captain's dinner on Friday evening, they will be required to meet with the tournament director Saturday morning prior to launching to fish.
WEIGH-IN: The Weigh-in opens Saturday, October 21st at SEA HAG MARINA, 322 Riverside Drive,
Steinhatchee at 2pm. Weigh-in will close for all anglers at 3pm. You must return by boat to weigh-in, no
trailering, or walk-ups will be accepted. You must be in line with your fish and ticket by 3pm.
TIES: In case of a tie, the winner will be the individual that weighed in the earliest.
PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: You can start wherever you would like. You are permitted to travel
as far as you would like without touching land during tournament hours, within state waters (9 miles out). You
must return by boat to weigh-in your fish. No trailering your fish to the weigh-in.
TACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Artificial lures or live bait may be used. Spearfishing or gigging will not be
allowed. All fish must be caught on rod and reel.
PROTESTS: The Tournament Committee will settle any Protest. The Tournament Committee’s decision is
FINAL.
REFUNDS: No refunds will be issued.
